Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • Had a great night's sleep last night, but didn't want to get up this morning.
  • Daddy dressed me in my cute shirt... seriously it says "CUTE" as well as my denim capri pants.
  • Waved and said hi to the moo cows at Ms. Cheri's.
  • Ms. Cheri was worried when she heard about my weekend visit.
  • I was glad to see my friends today.
  • Ms. Cheri said I had just walked up to her with a really sad face and said "Mommy?" when they heard the car pull in the driveway.  I yelled "MOMMY!" and ran and grabbed my lunch bag when Mommy walked in the door.
  • When we got home and walked in the front door, I yelled "DADDY!" and there was no response, so I yelled "DADDY?" and still no response.  Mommy said she thought Daddy might be out back, so we opened the back door and found Daddy building me my very own little playground.  It has a rock wall, slide, swing, and toys... it is super fun!  Daddy said he used some of his birthday money to buy it for me... He is so good to me.  I love him so much!
  • Not only is the play-set super fun, but so was the box.  I spent a few minutes exploring the inside of the box.  It was fun!
  • Daddy and I had dinner while Mommy went out with a few friends for dinner.  Mommy got back just in time to put me to bed.  I love her too!

May 6, 2012- Happy Birthday Daddy!

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • So, I left out a few details from yesterday's blog so I didn't concern my family too much until we had more information to share with them.  I spent last night at City Hospital.  Daddy said I was born there (whatever that means!).
  • I had some breathing problems and Mommy and Daddy thought it would be best to get a doctor to check me out.  Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday:

  • As for today, I woke up in hospital bed this morning (feeling a lot better) with Daddy, but spent the morning with Mommy (I don't know where Daddy disappeared to).  I had fun playing with Mommy and the nurses.  One nurse even found me a red wagon to ride in, though I think I like pulling it and pushing it more than riding in it.
  • I also got to have a bath (to get pancake syrup off of me) and then got to wear some cool red socks that were WAY too big.  I also enjoyed coloring, reading their many books, and even walked up and down the hallway looking at the many cartoon characters that were painted on the wall.
  • Daddy showed back up with lunch.  He decided since we couldn't go to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate his birthday, that he would bring it to us... we had a picnic right in my hospital room!
  • My buddy Dr. Wear visited a couple of times and finally decided after seeing me running all over the place that I was well enough to go home.  As soon as he asked me if I wanted to go home, I immediately started telling everyone (nurses, neighbor baby, etc.) "bye-bye."
  • After resting at home for a while, we went out (since I was feeling so well) to get a few things (including my new medicine) and to eat dinner.
  • I played with a pinwheel at Target (when I couldn't get it to move fast enough by blowing, I started hitting it with my hand).
  • While Mommy was trying to get me to go to sleep, I looked out the window of my bedroom and saw a bird.  I immediately said "birdie" then closed the curtain, put my hands up and said "birdie?" then pulled the curtain back again and laughed...  I played peek-a-boo with the birdie for a few minutes before finally deciding to lay back down and try to go to sleep.

Dancing while watching kitty cat videos on YouTube.
Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up at a little before six this morning, then Daddy and I got up and played for a bit.  He even fixed me breakfast...  muffins and fruit... YUM!
  • Mommy got up a little later and then Daddy left to go to Men's Camp at Camp Tomahawk for the day...  so it was just a girl's day!
  • Mostly, Mommy and I relaxed, though I did play with my block puzzle (Mommy helped me make the cow and pig), the puppy dog, and I colored again.
  • Mommy said that the funniest thing I did all day was carry nearly all of my shoes to the foot of her recliner seat and pile them up (just look at the picture!).
  • I helped Mommy in the kitchen... she was making macaroni salad and I was eating part of her cucumbers!  I am definitely Mommy's girl since I like cucumbers so much!
  • Mommy and I ate beanie weenies and macaroni salad for lunch (I played with it more than ate it).
  • After lunch, Mommy and I went for a little drive (I fell asleep before we made it 5 blocks and slept for 45 minutes).  Mommy just parked the car and read a book while I napped.
  • We went shopping for Daddy's birthday present but decided not to buy anything since Daddy needs to make some decisions first about what he wants.
  • I was so happy when Daddy came back from being away for the day at camp.  I ran toward the door and yelled "Daddy!"
  • This evening, we spent some quality time together as a family.

Mommy thinks I have a shoe problem...

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up nearly every hour whining...  it was a long night and once again I woke up with a runny nose.  Boo!
  • Daddy picked out my outfit this morning and he did a great job!  I wore my denim skirt, my Mountaineer ("I make blue and gold look this good") shirt, and my yellow and white sparkly shoes.  Mommy said I was too cute! (even with snot running down my face!)
  • I did a great job brushing my teeth and hair this morning, like usual.
  • I loved seeing the moos at Ms. Cheri's this morning!
  • Ms. Cheri said I was a little whinier than normal today, but when Mommy got there to pick me up I suddenly had an energy boost.
  • For the entire evening, I ate, played, colored, and acted much more like my normal self than last night or this morning...  Mommy is hoping I'm getting back on track and will be feeling better tomorrow.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up with a runny nose...  BOO!
  • Have spent the day fighting between the runny nose and chewing on my fingers (Mommy thinks my last set of teeth may be coming in).
  • I went to church and listened to the band play... they sound very different than Grandpa's band.
  • Ate Chinese food for dinner...  lo mein noodles, bourbon chicken, and general tso's chicken... and of course, a fortune cookie... YUM!
  • After dinner I cuddled with Mommy on the couch and watched "meow meows" on the computer.
  • Nearly fell asleep coloring (standing up!).

Drinking Daddy's drink
Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I hopped in the laundry basket and Daddy pushed me around this morning.
  • I wasn't sure which shoes went best with my outfit this morning, so I tried on multiple pairs of Mommy's shoes before finally deciding on a pair of my own.
  • I waved and said "hi" to the moo cows at Ms. Cheri's this morning.  Peyton was fussy when I first got there, so I gave her pacie to her to calm her down.  I'm a good helper!
  • When Mommy showed up to pick me up I was in the jumper seat (normally baby Peyton is in it, not me!)
  • Mommy took me home and Daddy and I had dinner while she hurried away to Tropical Smoothie Cafe for the Relay for Life fundraiser.
  • During dinner, I stole a sip of Daddy's Mountain Dew... it was DELICIOUS!  I kept coming back trying to get more saying "drink!"
  • I bounced around on the bed wearing one of Mommy's shoes while Daddy was putting away laundry (Mommy says it sounds too dangerous and she mentioned some crazy story about monkeys jumping on the bed!).
  • Daddy laid and cuddled with me to help me fall asleep since there was so much noise outside and I was being nosey.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up the first time at 12:30am, then fell back asleep until close to 6:00am.  When I woke up at 6:00, I seemed much more like my normal, cheerful self.  Mommy and Daddy are hoping that last night was a fluke with my attitude and crankiness.
  • I was super excited to see all of the buses on the way to and from Ms. Cheri's house.
  • Ms. Cheri taught me something new today... I learned how to pat my legs with my hands and sing "1, 2, Buckle My Shoe..."  We also practiced singing "ABCs" and "Wheels on the Bus."
  • Mommy and I did a little grocery shopping.  I yelled "nanas!" to be sure Mommy saw them and got me some... I did the same thing with "milk!"  A girl has to have her priorities!  I tried to do the same thing with cookies when I saw Chips Ahoy, but Mommy said she had to draw the line...  she did buy me 100 Calorie pack Lorna Doone's instead.  I'm okay with that...
  • On the way home from the store we waiting inside a building I've never been in before... it smelled yummy!   They gave Mommy food for us to take home:  pizza, cheese bread, and even chocolate lava cakes!  As soon as we got in the car I started yelling "Bite!  Bite!" because I wanted a bite of the yummy food I could smell.  Luckily we had a short ride home and then I got to eat.
  • Mommy let me hold my very own big piece of pizza.  I like the cheese bread better than the pizza, but ate some of both.  Daddy let me eat a full pear all by myself.  I love pears!  (nearly as much as I love bananas!)  Then Daddy shared two bites of chocolate lava cake with me...  I said "YUM!"
  • Once again, I wore Mommy's shoes around the house throughout the day... it started with her brown Sketchers this morning and ended with her open-toed black heels.  I'm actually really good at walking around in heels.  I love shoes!
  • Since I love shoes and kitty cats, one of my favorite books right now is "Pete the Cat:  I Love My White Shoes."  Daddy found a YouTube video that has the song and all the words to the book and we watched it tonight after dinner.  We all sang along and it was so fun!
  • Daddy and I played blocks and had a "picnic" before bed... what a day!
  • Mommy registered me to walk in the Relay for Life with her team this year.  I'm super excited to walk (and to get a t-shirt!)...  feel free to make a donation for me!  (http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?px=28643114&pg=personal&fr_id=40975)
