Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • Woke up about 7:45 this morning and Mommy and I played and ate breakfast (apple cinnamon cereal bar and a banana- YUM!)
  • I stayed with Daddy and I helped him clean and we played while Mommy went to her Yoga class... she tells me that I will be going with her from now on.
  • Daddy bought new Rubbermaid totes yesterday to put some things away in the attic and I kept peeling the safety labels off the inside of the lids... I called them stickers and thought they were fun.
  • When Mommy got home, we warmed up some left-over pizza for lunch.  I wasn't too excited about it.  It's so much better fresh!
  • After spending a few minutes on the porch with Daddy, Mommy noticed I had 5 bug bites on my arms...  They itch really bad and I keep trying to scratch them, but Mommy won't let me.  Luckily she has some aloe that she has been putting on it to make it feel better.
  • Daddy decided he needed a hair cut, so Mommy and I walked around the mall while he was doing that.  I LOVE the As Seen on TV store... they have such cool toys!  I enjoyed pushing the lawnmower around, looking at the pillow pets, and playing with the train set.  I even laid down on the floor on one of the Thomas the Train pillow pets in the middle of the floor and said "Ni-night!"  I also went to the shoe store with Mommy so she could look for me some sandals.  While she was looking, I picked out three different shoes and lined them up in the floor, side-by-side for easy comparison.  When Mommy put them back, I found two more shoes and did the same thing.  After looking around, Mommy took me so I could look in the window while Daddy was getting his hair cut... My mouth dropped open and I was a bit confused when I saw his hair falling to the floor.  Nearly all of Daddy's hair is gone!  He said it would be cooler for camp.
  • After the mall, Daddy surprised me by taking me to Chick-fil-a to play.  I played with another little girl that was close to my size.
  • I helped Mommy shred some old papers and kept yelling for Daddy whenever he would walk out the door to clean out his truck or pack up things in another room.  I miss him when he is not in the room.  I also yelled for Mommy when she left the room too.  Daddy says I was very clingy today, whatever that means.
  • Mommy showed me some butterfly wings that she bought at a yard sale... she opened the package and let me wear them.  I decided I needed to walk on the porch to show Daddy just how cute I was.
  • We spent some time in the dark tonight before bed while Daddy used a flashlight and worked in my room.  I didn't mind since I got to stay up later than my normal bedtime.  I finally got to bed at 10:00.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • Woke up after 7:00 and ate pancakes and a banana with Daddy.  Some how the syrup keeps ending up in my hair!
  • I had one spot of sunburn under my left eye, but other than that, you would never tell I spent so much of yesterday in the sun... Mommy did good!
  • Mommy and Daddy were surprised that I learned a new word yesterday at the Relay.  During the team banner lap, one team said their team name over the PA and then said, "Feel Your Boobies" to promote self breast exams.  I repeated the word "boobies" after they said it, but never mentioned it again until this morning.  I yelled "boobies!" while getting dressed this morning.  (Mommy wonders why that word of all words was the one I would remember...)
  • I wore a pretty pink dress to church this morning.  It was a little chilly, so I wore a cute pink sweater over top.  Mommy and Daddy thought I looked adorable!  The church members loved watching me dance on stage between the services and some are calling me the official greeter since I'm so friendly.
  • I stopped to smell the flowers after church, then we headed off to lunch.  I was so tired that I didn't quite make it.  While Mommy and Daddy picnicked in the car, I continued to nap.  I ate my lunch after waking.
  • At home I had a very busy afternoon... I got out my tunnel all by myself and played in it with the kitties, Mommy, and Daddy.  I also sorted rocks on the porch and had fun playing with them until I threw them and Mommy took them away.  Daddy showed me a bird nest that had been used by robins in our wisteria during the spring.  It was so neat!
  • Daddy decided he needed Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner since he may have to go several weeks without...  I colored, used science to roll my crayons across the table, wore a "Winged Beauty" hat and enjoyed my favorite, "mac cheese."
  • After dinner, I helped Mommy and Daddy do a little shopping at Wal-mart.  I saw bananas in a cart and yelled "NANAS!"  The lady whose cart it was thought it was hilarious!  I even held some of the boxed items in the seat with me, though Mommy and Daddy would not let me hold the bananas.

June 2, 2012- Relay For Life Day!

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:
  • I woke up at 7:15 and spent some time with Daddy while Mommy slept in a little longer.  I ate chocolate chip muffins and a banana for breakfast.  When Mommy woke up and had muffins, I wanted to help her too.  I obviously was still hungry, though Daddy doesn't know how!
  • Mommy and I were dressed alike today, how embarrassing!!!  My Relay For Life t-shirt was way too big (past my knees), but Daddy tied it in the back to make it seem smaller.  He says that this is the new style with the big girls, but I'm not so sure.
  • Mommy and I walked to the Relay For Life and watched people walk around and around the track.  We cheered and watched while white doves were released, so pretty!  I clapped and waved while the people in purple shirts walked by on the track, Mommy said they are survivors.  They loved seeing me clap and smiled when they waved back at me.  They thought I was too cute!
  • I walked one full lap with Mommy with my bear backpack on while holding the end of the Spring Mills Middle School Spring For a Cure banner.  From that point on, I was pushed around the track in my stroller a few more laps before we left to go to Autumn's graduation party.
  • A special thanks to Norma and Dorothy for their donations to my Relay For Life page!  You both rock!  :O)
  • At the party at War Memorial Park, I wanted to run and play on the swings and slide more than hang out with everyone else.  The mac-n-cheese and chicken was yummy, so was the cake!  I really enjoyed learning how to play bocce with Daddy and the boys.  It was fun!
  • After the party, we went back to the Relay for a bit because one of Mommy's students was being recognized for raising so much money (over $2400!).  Daddy pushed me in the stroller and I fell asleep!  I slept MANY laps until Mommy was ready to go home to eat dinner.
  • After dinner, Mommy and I played blocks and I was a stinker until it was time for her to go back to the Relay again.  This time, Mommy would not let me go since it was getting so close to bed time.  I stayed home to play with Daddy until bed.
(Note from Mommy:  I was reminded why today of why I wait until the little girl is in bed every night to do this blog post...  she was VERY helpful (sarcasm!) during this posting today.)  :O)

June 1, 2012

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up at 8:15 this morning, then Daddy and I cooked pancakes.
  • As soon as I was sitting in my high chair and Daddy gave me my plate, I said "dip" and stuck my hand right in the syrup.  I ate three whole pancakes... all by myself!
  • Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath this morning and I had fun lining up all of my ducks in a row on the side of the tub.  Mommy put some kind of new diaper on me today that I had to step into... she called them "Slip-ons" (whatever that means).
  • After bathtime, we went for a ride in the car to do a few errands.  I decided it would be a great time for a nap, but had to take my shoes and socks off first and get comfortable (I put my socks in my shoes and closed the velcro to keep them neat).  When I woke up from my nap, Daddy gave me some Popeyes chicken fingers and biscuit with my fruit.  It was yummy!
  • I helped Mommy and Daddy do laundry and dishes and even helped brush Gemma too!  I love my Gemma cat!  I even got to hug Cameron cat too before he took off running.
  • While Mommy and Daddy were cooking dinner, I thought it would be a great time to ride my Elmo plane.  I used Daddy's ties as a seatbelt to be safe.
  • We had yummy grilled chicken (thanks Dad!) and shells and cheese and green beans for dinner... I pretty much only ate the shells and a little green beans though and even asked for more shells.  I am definitely Mommy's girl!  Mommy couldn't even come close to getting all of the cheese off of my face!
  • When we heard storms were on their way, Mommy and I went and sat on the porch and waiting and watched, but it was barely sprinkling, so we came back inside.  About a half hour later it started pouring the rain, so we all went and sat on the porch and watched.  I loved saying "it's raining!" and trying to catch the rain in my hand off the edge of the porch, but that made Mommy too nervous.  Instead I spent most of the time out there on Daddy's lap watching the rain.  I wasn't sure what to think of the thunder, but I wasn't scared of it.
  • Tomorrow is the big Relay For Life event.  I can't wait to walk with Mommy and wear my new pretty t-shirt.  Make sure you check out tomorrow's blog for pictures.  And, if you haven't already done so, feel free to donate to the Relay For Life by visiting here.
