Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • When I woke up this morning, Mommy and I got dressed (I wore my monkey shirt and pink shorts and flashy shoes) and ready and left the house.
  • I got to spend some time with Ms. Kelly and Emily while Mommy went to work for a little while.
  • We stopped to see the Storys and I played with Rebekah and Thomas for a few minutes.  We played with colorful playground balls, tossing them around at each other.  I had so much fun that I didn't want to leave.  When Mommy asked if I was ready to go, I kept saying, "No!"
  • I fell asleep in the car on the way home   Mommy carried me into the house and put me to bed to finish my nap.
  • Carol and Mommy and I went to Hagerstown to go shopping at Kohls and Party City.  At Kohls I was losing patience so Carol took me to the toy section to look around while Mommy tried on some clothes.  I was so excited to find and carry around a picnic basket with shaped food. It's very similar to one I already have at home.  I also found a stuffed bee and since Mommy had Kohls cash to spend, she bought it for me.  I loved it and said "Bee, Bee, Bee..." over and over again until the cashier handed it back to me.  At Party City, I tried on some cool sunglasses and Mommy and Carol were giggling at me.
  • Once back at home, I played with my bowls and plates while Mommy was cooking dinner.  I took them out of the drawer counting them,  "6, 7, 8" and then put them back in.  Mommy got mad at me when I kept playing in the kitties water fountain.  She doesn't understand why it's so much fun to play in.
  • Mommy and I sat in the floor of the living room building with my blocks.  I built a cool car and Mommy built a skyscraper.  When I took apart my car, I tossed the blocks while saying "raining" as they fell.
  • When I was ready for bed, I snapped my fingers at Mommy and said "Come on."  After going upstairs to take my bath and go to bed, I yelled back down the stairs, "Come on, Gemma" while snapping my fingers.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up close to 8:00 this morning.  Mommy thinks that all the partying from yesterday made me more tired.
  • We got up and dressed and ate breakfast in the car on the way to Mommy's school.
  • At Mommy's yoga/bodyflow class I was supposed to play with Jillian, but instead spent most of the time hanging on or climbing on Mommy while she was trying to do her exercises.  After her workout, Mommy had a meeting with some other teachers and I decided to pick a few books off of the library shelves to look at.  My first choice was a biography on Aristotle.  The second and third choices were a book by Hans Christian Anderson and a biography about Muhammad Ali.  Mommy says I have a very diverse taste in books.  Once in the office, I quickly found the mail tub and sat in .  Jillian pushed me around the office and I had so much fun.  Then I put Dolly in the tub and pushed her around the office too.
  • After lunch and my nap, Mommy and I played with my toys.  I loaded some of my puzzle blocks into the storage compartment of my airplane for safe keeping.  I even tried to use my potty seat a few times, though nothing happened while I was sitting on it.  I was mad at Mommy that she didn't have any more pull-up diapers (Huggies Slip-ons) and did not want to let her put a regular diaper on me.  I kept yelling "Pull ups!" and running away.  (Mommy did remember later in the day to go buy more to keep me happy... Thanks Mom!)
  • After a little shopping with Mommy and Carol, Mommy and I came home and  had dinner and rested a bit.
  • We got a surprise Skype call from Daddy.  It was so good to see him and not just hear him.  I tried to share my cookies with him and he even opened his mouth real big, but it just didn't work.  I sang Pattycake and Twinkle, Twinkle to him, then was more interested in playing games on the ipad than talking to him.  I can't wait for him to get home very soon.
  • Mommy did get mad at me this evening.  Her glasses were already damaged due to me playing with them a month or two ago.  Tonight I grabbed them and tossed them and they broke completely.  I guess Mommy will be wearing her contacts for a while until she can get new glasses.
  • We went to Carol and Chip's  house to watch the fireworks that had been rescheduled from last night.  They were so pretty and loud.  I had my mouth wide open and was speechless the first few minutes, then kept saying "pretty" and "wow."  After it was over and Mommy asked if I liked the fireworks, I said "Again!" and two minutes later they set off a few more.  It was like they heard me.
  • I barely made it home before falling completely asleep.  Mommy kept talking to me to wake me up along the way.  I did not fight going to sleep one bit tonight.  Hopefully I sleep well until morning.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up before 7:00 this morning.
  • Mommy and I had a lazy morning.  We ate breakfast and played in the living room with the tunnel, Elmo plane, and of course, Mommy's ipad.
  • Mommy fixed me a yummy grilled cheese sandwich and peaches for lunch.
  • After lunch and my nap, I helped Mommy put away some laundry and sort through some of my clothes that were too small for me to wear any more.  Mommy always seems a little sad when she cleans out clothes I can't wear any more because it means I'm growing up.
  • Carol called to invite us to her house for the evening.  We ate dinner and a beautiful lightning storm started right before the fireworks were supposed to start.  We went outside to watch what Mommy called "God's fireworks" and then waited to see if they park was still going to put off their fireworks.  Carol's father-in-law put off some fountain fireworks.  They were pretty and loud.  I was a little nervous and held on to Mommy but I wasn't too scared.  We also saw a few fireworks going off down the street from Carol's house.  We found out that the fireworks at the park were cancelled for the evening due to an incident that happened and they will be rescheduled.  Hopefully I'll get to see them.
  • After we got home, I was so tired.  We went upstairs and I did my breathing treatment and then said "Ni-night" to Mommy and went toward the bed.  I didn't even want to do my normal routine cuddle time in the rocking chair with Mommy while she says our bible verses and prayer.  She sat in the chair and I fell asleep while she said them tonight.  I was tired!  The Fourth of July was exhausting but fun!

July 3, 2012

a little strawberries and a little popsicle on my shirt
Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:
  • I woke up when I heard the chainsaw across the street clearing the downed tree in the parking lot.  That's two mornings in a row that I was woken by sounds from the street (yesterday it was the garbage truck).  Mommy hopes tomorrow I'll sleep in a little more.
  • Once we had breakfast, Mommy made a phone call and then we quickly got ready and took the car to a place where they lifted it in the air and took off a tire.  I liked pointing out the car through the window, looking at all of the pretty tires, saying hi to everyone, and watching the tv and playing games on the ipad in the waiting room.  We ended up leaving with a new tire and Mommy seemed to worry a little less than she did yesterday and earlier this morning when the tire was low.
  • We stopped at Wal-mart to get a few things and Mommy bought me a kitty cat coloring book.  I was so excited.  I held on to it all through the store and kept saying "KITTY!  KITTY!"
  • In the car I was singing my two favorite songs, "Twinkle, Twinkle Star, Diamond, Diamond, Sky" and "Pattycake, Pattycake, Roll it, Roll it, Baby, Me!"  Mommy loves it when I sing.
  • After lunch and my nap, I got to go spend the rest of the afternoon and evening with Ms. Sierra and her family while Mommy went to a movie and dinner.  I played and even ate a red popsicle.
  • At home, I cuddled with Mommy and colored in my new kitty coloring book.  I even got to talk to Daddy.  I told him "Miss you.  Love you" and he asked me to give Mommy a kiss for him so of course I did what he asked.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up when I heard the garbage trucks outside.  Mommy was a little disappointed that I didn't sleep longer.
  • After breakfast, I helped Mommy work on laundry and do dishes.  When I got my bathing suit out of the dryer, I took the top and put it on (around my waist) and wore it around until Mommy changed my clothes to leave.  I also spent some time on the suitcase helping Mommy sort clothes, with the help of Gemma.  We then ran a few errands: to the bank, the post office, and to turn in Daddy's paperwork.
  • Mommy found what she believes to be something called a freckle on my arm.  She was very excited and even took a picture of it, though it didn't turn out so well.
  • I had a good long nap, then went swimming with Carol, Chip, and Mommy at Chip's brother's pool.  It was so much fun.  I spent some time in my lifejacket and some time without.  I also enjoyed walking around the yard smelling all the flowers that were planted and enjoyed playing with the basketballs in the water.  I also practiced floating on a pool noodle with the help of Mommy.  I did not want to leave and had a meltdown when Mommy tried to change my clothes to leave.
  • After arriving at home, Mommy cooked dinner.  We had yummy fish sticks, shells and cheese and corn on the cob.  It was delicious!  I helped Mommy finish off her ear of corn and completely cleaned my plate.  She was so proud!
  • After playing and a bath, I was really cranky.  I fought Mommy when she tried to put a diaper and pajamas on me and she was not happy.  She was so upset that she wouldn't even let me read books while I did my breathing treatment which made me even more mad.  I finally calmed down in time to fall asleep and didn't fight Mommy at all when it came time to lay down in my crib.  Mommy was thankful of that!  She said if swimming causes me to meltdown like this, we may not go swimming ever again.  I'll have to remember to be better behaved after I go swimming the next time.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I slept until 8:30 this morning.  It was so nice to sleep in my own bed!
  • Church was hot this morning, but I still enjoyed playing in the nursery with Ms. Sierra.  I also enjoyed having all of the fans going in the chapel.  I sat down right in front of one and let my hair blow...  I looked like a model during a photo shoot.  Mommy tried to take a picture of my, but then I started trying to take off my shoes and wouldn't sit still any longer.  I also danced, as usual on the stage and stole Autumn's shoes and wore them around.
  • After church Mommy and I grabbed a quick bite for lunch, even tried  then went back to the grocery store to get more things now that our power is back on.  I got to ride in the car cart.  The buckle was broken, but Mommy let me ride in the car anyway, at least until I kept trying to get up.  Since I wasn't listening she made me ride up front with her where the buckle was functional.  I was not happy!  I was glad that she bought me some chocolate milk though.
  • After unloading groceries at the house, we spent the rest of the day at home in the air conditioning since it is was so hot.
  • I took a nap, played games on Mommy's ipad, played with my toys, unloaded and "read" all of my downstairs books, ate lasagna for dinner, then ate strawberry shortcake for dessert.
  • I even watched a half hour of Curious George on Mommy's ipad before bed.  I love that show!  I call it "George" and love the theme song, even sing the "everything" part every time.
