Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "WHOOP CREAM!" (talking about my cool whip for my pumpkin pie).
  • "I can pop a wheeler" (when showing off my stroller pushing skills in the house).

I did:
  • I woke Mommy and Daddy up this morning at 7:30 with a big "Happy Thanksgiving!"
  • I ate breakfast and read my Bible and when I thought Mommy had slept long enough, I went back upstairs and shook my maraca at her.
  • Mommy and I watched a little of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on television.  She acted like it was a big deal.  I did like seeing the balloons and dancers on tv.  My favorite part was when the Wizard of Oz characters showed up...  Mommy was in the other room and I started squealing and yelling for her to come look since I was so excited about it.
  • We did a little cleaning and cooking, and some playing (making more of a mess), while waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive.
  • I was so happy when they got here and even got lots of clothes from Grandma.
  • I helped set the table, and even put my turkey on the balloon holder as a centerpiece for the table.
  • We ate a yummy Thanksgiving dinner... I told Daddy that his turkey was yummy and the bread was too.  Other than the pumpkin pie, they were my favorites.
  • After a little rest and digestion time, Mommy and Grandma left to go shopping.  I can't wait to go shopping with them tomorrow.
  • For tonight, I had to stay in with the boys.  :(

November 26, 2014

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "I was watching a movie in there until I got tired of it" (when Mommy found me in another classroom when she picked me up at school).
  • "I had a bad dream.  Someone threw snow at us and hit us in the eye."
  • "I like them... they aren't very mashy, but I still like them.  I like every type of candy!" (describing Milk Duds that I had just eaten... leftover Halloween candy).

I did:
  • I woke up after having a bad dream so I cuddled with Mommy and Daddy until Daddy woke me up to go to school.  Mommy was still sleeping.
  • Daddy took me to get a donut for breakfast, then I went to school.  Several of my friends were absent today so I got more attention and had a "terrific day" according to Ms. Tammy.
  • We grabbed a quick bite of dinner on the way back home.  As soon as I got out of the car I had to stop and grab some snow to throw at Mommy and Daddy.  I love snow and wish there had been more, but at least I had enough for a quick snowball fight.
  • Mommy and Daddy had moved a few things around in my room and the living room while I was at school.  I decided to do a little cleaning too and put some of my toys where I thought they belonged.  I'm such a great helper!
  • I watched a couple of my shows and relaxed a bit until bed time.
  • I'm excited that tomorrow is Thanksgiving, that I don't have to go to school for a few days, and that I have plans to see Gabriel on Saturday.

November 25, 2014

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "It's a chicken!" (when showing Mommy my pretty drawing I made with my hand at school today.  I was so proud that I knew what it was even though Mommy mentioned something about a turkey).
  • "My mac-n-cheese is a cold warmness" (at Buffalo Wild Wings)
  • "I'm the dad I'm the dad, I'm the dad" (singing to the tune of the song "I'm the Man").

I did:
  • I was much more awake this morning when Mommy came downstairs.  I had already finished my breakfast and was quite chipper which is not normal for me (or Mommy) in the mornings.
  • I had a great day at school today and it sounds like some of my friends won't be at school tomorrow.  Mommy said I have to go for at least a little bit and that I would have more fun at school with my friends than at home working... I think she's right.
  • After I got home, my neighbor friend was outside and we got to play together, even though it was starting to get dark.  I brought a few toys outside to show her, colored with chalk on the sidewalk, rode my scooter and even showed her my skates.  She is a great friend and I wish I could play with her more when she comes to visit the neighbor.
  • I decided I needed to get a "selfie" picture with Mommy and Indy on the couch.  It turned out silly and I thought it was extra silly since my mouth got cut off of the picture.
  • After Mommy fixed dinner and we ate, we relaxed a bit before heading to Buffalo Wild Wings for trivia.  It was lots of fun.  Mr. Harry teased me for folding up all of the answer papers really small before giving them to him.  It's a good thing he likes me or he might be upset.
  • On the way home, Mommy was talking about shopping for Thanksgiving dinner.  She asked me what I thought we should eat for Thanksgiving.  I told her turkey, salad, corn, broccoli, chicken...  when she asked me about dessert, I said pumpkin pie with "icing," candy canes, and lollipops.
  • People keep talking about us getting some snow tomorrow.  I'm super excited about the snow and about Thanksgiving coming up, especially since Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit.

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "Weis is my most favorite place I've ever been" (when we stopped at the grocery store... it was my first time at that store and I really liked it).
  • "Mommy, can I fix those?" (pointing to the shopping baskets that were stacked crooked and it bothered me.. this is after picking up an onion off of the floor that had fallen off of its display... I like things to be in their place).
  • "Mary hen loves Christmas and her little chicks" (telling Mommy my new Christmas song).

I did:
  • I was tired this morning but am happy it is a short week at school.
  • It was warm enough that we got to play outside.  I didn't even need my jacket when I left school... it was 70 degrees and they say it will snow in a couple days!  Weird!
  • When Mommy picked me up, Ms. Tammy told her that I had an awesome day!  She said she didn't have to say my name even one time all day.  I was even a big helper organizing the toys.
  • I went to gymnastics and my forward roll is getting much better.  My balance is also improving a lot and I'm listening better to my teachers. Mommy took a few pictures (mostly through the glass from the parent room) and a video.
  • After dinner at home, I helped give Mommy a blanket and she took a nap while I played.
  • I'm glad to have her home, even if she is tired from a busy last week.

November 23, 2014

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "What are we going to eat?" (to Mommy after getting home from church where we had just had a Thanksgiving luncheon and I had eaten lots of food).
  • "I want to swing from the child in here" (my very own version of the song Chandelier).
  • "What are the other words?  Never mind, I'll just make it up" (while reading a book to Mommy at bedtime).

I did:
  • I woke up early and cuddled with Mommy and Daddy, but not for long until Daddy was ready to get up.
  • I got dressed and ready for church.  I wore a pink dress with a sweater over top, a headband, and Daddy even let me wear my sandals (over tights).  Mommy said I looked like a hot mess.
  • I had fun playing at church and even got to be a big girl and help set the tables for the Thanksgiving luncheon.  I was such a big girl.  It would have been a great day, but I got a splinter in my foot and wouldn't let Mommy or Daddy mess with it, just complained about it.
  • We ate lots of yummy food for lunch at church and I got to sit at the kid picnic table with my friends.  It was super fun!  I even got to eat a cupcake with blue icing...  hence the blue on my face in the picture below.
  • After a nap at home, I got to go play at Ms. Sierra's house for a while so Daddy could got see the play at Mommy's school that she had been helping with all weekend. I had a lot of fun there.
  • Mommy got home just in time to tuck me into bed.  I told her how much I had missed her and she said the play was over and things would be back to normal now and she will be home more.  I'm so glad!

November 22, 2014

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "What's the other movie?" (when Mommy told me what movie we could go to see at the theater... It took Mommy a bit to realize that I was used to going to the movies in the summer when there were three kids movies to choose from each time.  Mommy told me that this was the only kid movie and the rest were for Mommys and Daddys).
  • "It's a seatbelt."

I did:
  • I woke up early and laid down with Mommy and Daddy. I was just fidgety enough that Daddy couldn't get anymore sleep, so he went downstairs and I got to cuddle with mommy and Indy. It wasn't long before I came downstairs and demanded to be fed and allowed to watch tv. It didn't hold my interest for very long so I kept going up and down the steps to bother Mommy until she got up.
  • Mommy and I shared a blueberry muffin before getting dressed and ready to go out and about.
  • We ate lunch and then went to see the movie, Big Hero 6.  It was great!  I laughed and laughed!  I started getting tired during the movie and decided I needed to cuddle with Mommy.  I did have enough energy to eat lots of snacks though.  I was super excited that Carol joined us for the movie too.  When we left the movie, Carol said, "See you later" to me.  I asked Mommy when we would see her later today, but Mommy said that was just an expression that people say sometimes.
  • Mommy and I came home from the movie and cuddled and took a long nap while Daddy was still at the football game.  It was warm and cozy.  Indy and Gemma slept with us too.
  • Daddy made grilled cheese and tomato noodle soup for dinner. We watched Muppets Take Manhattan and I collected all of my toys and put tape across them to use as a seatbelt.
  • Daddy gave me a bath before bedtime. Then I ate a bowl of cereal while I was drying off.
  • I missed Mommy tonight while she was at her school again for the play.  I will be glad when it is over so I can have my Mommy back in the evenings.

November 21, 2014

Alyson's Antics of the Day:

I said:

  • "Where's mommy?" When being picked up from preschool.
  • "She's at work."
  • "But where is my present?"
This exchange was repeated when daddy picked me up from Miss Sierra's.

I did:

  • Today is Friday, so daddy and I went to Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast. I ordered mommy and me both blueberry cake donuts.
  • After preschool, daddy took me to Miss Sierra's house. We had a lot of fun.
  • Daddy picked me up after it got dark. I was already in my PJ's. When we got home, daddy gave me the present mommy got me. It was a Frozen nightlight that projected Elsa and Anna on the ceiling. I put it in bed with me so I could see it tonight.
