Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • It was raining when I woke up this morning. After I got dressed, I wanted to run and jump in the puddles but daddy wouldn't let me.
  • I fed myself a bowl of cereal this morning. I didn't even make a mess.
  • I helped daddy bake a cake today. He's not nearly as good at it as mommy. I might have to help out a little more next time.
  • This afternoon I played kickball. Mostly, I just ran to the bases and jumped in the mud puddles.
  • We had a dance this evening. It was so much fun. Daddy and I even shared a daddy/daughter dance. At the dance, I got to eat the cake daddy and I baked earlier. It was delicious.
  • For a nighttime snack, daddy gave me a graham cracker. After I ate part of it, I showed daddy that it made a diamond. Then I ate more and made two rectangles. Finally, I ate all of it except a small triangle.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I'm still camping with daddy. Last night, I got to eat s'mores. I wasn't a big fan, so I ate the piece of chocolate by itself. Daddy was afraid that it would keep me up late, but I was asleep within 3 minutes of laying down and I slept all night. Actually, I wasn't real happy with daddy when he woke me up at 7:40.
  • I'm becoming super independent and I love hanging out and playing with the other children. I spend a lot of time at the playground.
  • I played one of mommy's games on the iPad today called "Flow Free." The object of the game is to connect dots of the same color without crossing lines. Daddy was surprised that I could solve most of the puzzles on my own.
  • I got to go swimming today, but it was really cold. I didn't want to stay in too long.
  • After swimming, daddy tried to make me take a nap. Instead, I threw a tantrum. Daddy decided to let me fall asleep on him instead while he was carrying me. I fell asleep while he worked on the computer and stayed asleep when he put me in the car. Daddy let me sleep in the IGA parking lot for about 40 minutes. Then, I slept while he carried me through the IGA. Next, I slept while he carried me through Family Dollar. Finally, I slept another hour in the car after we arrived back at camp. Daddy kept all of the windows open so I wouldn't get to hot and he parked under a shade tree.
  • In the evening, I met up with my "scooter gang" and we cruised around the pavilion.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • Campfire was awesome last night. I loved the music and even danced for everybody. I slept in a big girl bed last night. I'm growing up so fast.
  • Unfortunately, I woke up at 6:00 this morning coughing and asking for daddy.
  • I didn't see much of daddy today. I kept going from one group of kids to another.
  • I would check in with him throughout the day to make sure he was okay.
  • I got to swing and play on the playground. Then I rode my scooter some more.
  • While I was with daddy, he let me take pictures with a camera. I captured chairs on camera after daddy showed me how to use it.
  • I also got to sing into the new microphones daddy was setting up. I sang "Call Me Maybe," "Baby," and "I Love the Way You Hold Me."

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I slept until after 8:00 and Mommy had to wake me up.  She told me she was going to go ahead and give me some medicine before I got out of bed.  I immediately said, "Am I still going to camp with Daddy?  My cough is all gone!"  (Mommy had told me yesterday that I had to feel better and not be coughing as much to go with Daddy.)  I was such a big girl playing with my Elmo ABC app on the iPad while Mommy gave me my breathing treatment.  I wasn't coughing at all, but Mommy wanted to be sure I wouldn't have problems during the trip.
  • I spent a little while helping Mommy and Daddy finish packing then we hit the road.
  • We traveled to camp. On the way, I kept asking daddy "Going to camp, daddy?" I must have asked 100 times in the first hour. Then daddy gave me my iPad.
  • At camp, I played with all of the other children. I played on the playground and with a ball and a Frisbee.  I saw other girls riding scooters so I made daddy get mine out for me to ride as well.
  • Ms. Tess took me on a tour of the camp. We even saw the beach and the river. I can't wait to swim.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I didn't sleep as well as normal due to coughing.  Mommy and Daddy gave me a breathing treatment a couple of times during the night to help me sleep a little.  Mommy thinks my allergies are causing all of this, but who knows.
  • I felt a little better after my morning medicine.
  • I helped Daddy take Shane to the Salvation Army camp so he could catch his ride home.  Daddy even stopped and got us breakfast to eat on our way there.  I had yummy cinnamon rolls and they were delicious.
  • After saying goodbye to Shane, Daddy and I went to Ms. Brittny's house and Mommy was already there with a lot of things... they were having another yard sale.  I was feeling better, so I got to walk around and help and play.  Carol and Erin stopped by with Erin's new dog, Atlas.  He was like a teddy bear, so soft and sweet but a little hyper.  I think he will be fun to play with.  I liked watching the neighbors play in the backyard.  I also liked playing in Ms. Brittny and Mr. Mark's tent that they had in the backyard.  I kept making Daddy go into the tent with me to play.  I visited with their dog, Piggy... I love petting her and helping to walk her too.  She loves me too since I give her food and treats.  I even found a roll of toilet paper in one of Ms. Brittny's boxes of camping gear.  I ran up and said, "look what I found!" so she told Mommy to take a picture for the blog.
  • It started raining right before we started to clean up and I was such a big helper by wiping down the tables to get the water off of them before we put them in the truck.
  • Once at home, I had more medicine, took a nap, and had a bath.
  • The evening was spent relaxing at home (other than a couple of errands).  Mommy and Daddy are trying to get me better before tomorrow when we go see Tommy at Family Camp.
  • I was coughing less this evening than this morning or afternoon, so Mommy is hoping we have a more restful night and that I am on the up-swing.  Mommy gets very nervous when I cough.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up and Daddy took Shane and I get donuts.  I love Donut Friday!
  • I helped Daddy do some dishes and relaxed a little at the house and then we went to the park in Hagerstown.  Shane and I ran around and played.  We also bought a big bag of food so that we could feed the fish.
  • After the park, we went to my favorite McDonalds, the one with the super fun inside playground.
  • I came home and took a nap then Mommy came home from work.  I told her all about going the park and feeding the fish, "I fed the BIIIGGG fish and the SMMAAALLL fish" (showing size with my arms).
  • After eating lasagna for dinner, I played with the iPad and helped Mommy and Daddy unpack some boxes and search through things.  I took some of the animals they found for the shelf in my room.  The elephants were my favorites, I even imitated their noises.  I also found a harmonica in their things.  It was so much fun to play.  I don't think Shane was quite as excited about it as I was.
  • Daddy and I read my shapes pop-up book over and over again before bed.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I slept until close to 8:00 then ate pancakes for breakfast.
  • I washed dishes with Daddy.
  • Daddy, Shane, and I spent some time relaxing and watching tv and otherwise being a little lazy for much for much of the day.
  • We tried something new for dinner, pineapple BBQ chicken... Daddy thought it was delicious but Shane and I were unsure.
  • We went to the YoungLife/WyldLife swimming party and I had so much fun.  Daddy let me swim with my swimmies, all by myself.  I felt like such a big girl.  I practiced kicking and moving my arms in the water.  I also jumped into the pool too.  Daddy held on to me and helped me since I wanted to go off the diving board but wouldn't go by myself.  He told me to hold my breath before we jumped and I made the most sour, clinched face.  Daddy thought it was funny.
  • After we left the party, Daddy stopped at Dairy Queen for ice cream.  I ate a vanilla cone and Daddy, Shane, and Mommy had blizzards.
  • At bedtime, Mommy and I read Moo, Baa, La, La, La and Bib on Bunny.  Bunny kept "eating" my finger thinking it was a carrot.... Silly Bunny (aka Mommy).  Once I laid down in bed with my turtle stars on, I got the giggles when I noticed Mommy had a moon shining on her face.  Then it was on her arm, then her shoulder, then her nose... how silly!
