Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up at 7:00 this morning... Daddy and I ate breakfast and spent some time playing until Mommy got up.
  • While Mommy was at her meeting, Daddy and I played and then went on a walk to the church.  I loved stopping to smell the flowers while we were walking, but I ended up with a nose full of pollen from getting too close!   Then, we ate lunch (pepperoni rolls and "dip")- YUM!, and then went for another walk.  After her meeting, Mommy met Daddy and I at Winchester Avenue playground where Daddy and I were playing.  I loved the slide there!
  • After my nap, we had dinner, pasta with alfredo sauce and broccoli, and then went shopping for a few items.  Mommy bought me some kind of diapers called "slip ons" and says we will try them tomorrow... I'm not sure exactly what that means, but she seems excited about it.
  • After shopping, we went for a walk on the Route 9 trail in my stroller.  Mommy picked me a daisy and I spent a lot of the rest of the walk smelling it and playing with it.
  • After walking, we went to Rock Hill Creamery for ice cream...  DELICIOUS!  I had a scoop of vanilla, but Mommy had chocolate.  She shared her's with me too!
  • I did not want to go to sleep tonight.  I screamed and fought it hard.  Mommy hopes I'll stay asleep and that I will get back into a routine soon.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I slept in until 9:00 this morning... Mommy was thrilled!  She thinks it is simply due to all of the travel making me tired, but hopes I will continue to sleep in.
  • I ate a Tudor's apple biscuit and drank chocolate milk this morning... YUM!  I even shared a bite with Lucy (Grandma and Grandpa's dog).
  • Mommy and Grandpa packed the car then Mommy and I hit the road toward home.  I slept the first hour and a half then Mommy stopped so we could eat at Chick-fil-a... as soon as we pulled in the parking lot I started saying "MOO!" because I recognized the sign or building.  I ate chicken, fruit, and milk, then got to play in the play area.  Mommy was so proud of me since I climbed all the way to the top by myself.  She got nervous though when she saw that there were some wild bigger kids up top in the tube I needed to crawl through.  I crawled through anyway, then turned around and came back and climbed back down the spiral stairs instead of coming down the slide.  It was fun!  Then Mommy drove the rest of the way home.  I made sure I stayed awake to help Mommy stay awake.  I kept her busy making her hand me books and snacks and such along the way.  I'm such a good helper.
  • When we got home, Daddy was waiting on the porch.  He was so happy to see me and I was so happy to see him.  He thinks I've grown up a lot in the 6 days I have been away...  Mommy thinks he is right!
  • After getting a bite of dinner and going to the grocery store for essentials (bananas, pancake mix, and juice), we came home and spent the evening playing with toys and Play-doh and reading my books.  I enjoyed spending time with Daddy and Gemma... I missed them so much!
  • Mommy and Daddy celebrated that today was the first full day without a bottle!  It's been a long time coming since every time they were going to take it away I ended up in the hospital, but it finally happened!  They were so proud of me!
  • Be sure to visit my personal page (click on the link to the left) for the Berkeley County Relay for Life which will be this Saturday.  I'll be walking with Mommy in memory of my great-grandmother.  If you can, make a donation or if you click on "Honor a Loved one with Luminaria" to buy a luminaria that will be included in the ceremony at the Relay.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • After waking up this morning, Grandma and Mommy were packing the suitcases.
  • After packing, I played with Rowdy for a few minutes before Mr. Jeff took us to the airport.  I was so excited to see the planes while we were driving to the airport.  I kept saying "PLANE!" and pointing at them.
  • For some reason we waited in this long line where we had to put all of our things through a machine and I had to take my shoes off.  Grandma had to go through an extra big machine that Mommy and I didn't have to go through... it looked scary but Grandma said it was no big deal.
  • Before getting on the first plane, we had a quick bite of breakfast...  Mommy and I ate our favorite donuts from Dunkin Donuts... Blueberry cake donuts!  YUM!  Then, we boarded our plane to Houston.  It was a very short flight and I read the Skymall magazine, played with the ipad, and grandma's phone during the trip.
  • After we landed in Houston, we ate some McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries and grandma bought me a banana to eat too!  After eating, Mommy and Grandma let me run all over the terminal with my bear backpack.  I think they were just trying to get me tired.  (It worked!)
  • I fell asleep on the second flight while the plane was taxiing to get ready to take off.  I slept nearly two hours and only woke up when the pilot said we were approximately 20 minutes from Charleston.
  • Grandpa picked us up from the airport and took us back to the house.  We ate yummy Lorobi's pizza (Mommy's favorite) and I also had mandarin oranges too.
  • I fought going to sleep for a long time, but finally gave in!
  • Tomorrow, I get to see Daddy!  I have missed him so much!

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • I woke up this morning and we decided to go play at the park.  On the way to the park, we went through the McDonald's drive-thru to pick up our picnic breakfast.  I had hotcakes with "dip."
  • The park was super cool!  There were train, firetruck, and spiderweb climbing toys with slides.  I did a great job on the slides and Mommy was super proud of me!
  • After playing at the park, we stopped for another slushy drink.  Yesterday I had a watermelon slushy so today I tried the Strawberry Banana one.  It was even better than the watermelon one.  I didn't want to come up for air it was so yummy!
  • I helped Sherry water the flowers and grass in her backyard.  When she got the sprinkler out, I wasn't quite sure what to do with all the water that was coming out of it, but finally decided to put my hands in it, then my belly, then my face...  Mommy, Grandma, and Sherry thought I was hilarious!  I enjoyed dragging the sprinkler around the yard, playing and drinking, and stomping in the mud puddles.  It was so much fun!  (higher quality videos available upon request!)  :O)
  • After a quick Wal-mart trip to get dinner supplies, we headed back to Sherry's for the evening.  It was nice to just hang out and relax a little bit.  I played with Rowdy and colored and read my books.  I finally took a nap at 5:00, so I didn't really want to go to bed at bedtime.

Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day:

  • For breakfast this morning, I had a banana, fruit loops, and part of an orange.  Mommy gave me some toast with jelly but I wasn't interested.
  • Sherry and Jeff picked us up and took us to a place that had lots of drink choices.  Mommy fixed me a watermelon slushy drink and it had a cool bendy straw.  It was so yummy!  Then we went to their house to drop off our bags and then we headed for the big city of Dallas.
  • I fell asleep in the car on the way to Dallas, so they drove around and did some sightseeing while I napped.  I heard them mention something about a grassy knoll and an "X" in the road.  I'm not really sure what they were talking about, but Mommy was excited about seeing it.
  • When I woke up we went to the Dallas World Aquarium.  It was super cool!  They had so many animals...  lots of monkeys, snakes, a sloth, anteaters, penguins, flamingos, and lots of other land and air animals to go along with all of the aquatic animals as well.  I loved looking at all of them.  I waved at them and said "bye fish" or "bye monkeys" when we left their areas. I called the sea anemones and coral "flowers" and was a little scared by the sea turtles and manatees swimming right past me until I got used to them.  While at the aquarium, I practiced her "fishy face" with Sherry.  Mommy says I'm too stinking cute!
  • After the aquarium, we went to Hard Rock and I ate some yummy mac-n-cheese.  It was delicious!  They played some great music there and I enjoyed clapping at the end of each song and danced along with some of the music.
  • We came back to Sherry and Jeff's house where we spent the evening relaxing, reading my books, playing with Rowdy (the dog) and coloring.
