Alyson's Exciting Events of the Day

  • I slept until after 8:00 again this morning... two days in a row!
  • Daddy made Mommy and I pancakes for breakfast.  He tried to use my new monkey shaped skillet, but my pancakes didn't quite look like monkeys... at least he tried!
  • We relaxed at home, cuddled on the couch much of the time until lunch.  I ate leftover pizza, chips, and fruit and then I helped Mommy and Daddy put away some clothes in our drawers and closets.  We have been catching up on washing clothes and packing up clothes that no longer fit and replacing them with some new outfits since we have been at home a little extra.  The most fun part was climbing in and out of the clothes basket and playing.   After helping with the clothes, it was nap time.  When I laid down to nap, I told Daddy, "Sweet dreams."
  • After nap, we got dressed and ready to go out and about.  We first went to Petsmart... as soon as we pulled in the parking lot I started saying, "animals!"  I was so excited and ran from section to section looking at all the animals.  There were no kitties there and I was a little sad, but Daddy said that was a good thing.  I really enjoyed getting to pet a nice big dog.  His Mommy and Daddy were trying a penguin Halloween costume on him.  (He seemed a little embarrassed.)  I found a penguin Christmas toy and shook it at him trying to get him to play.  I was a big helper and helped Daddy carry the cat food to the front of the store.
  • After we left Petsmart, we went to Wal-mart.  I enjoyed looking at the bicycles and other toys.  I pointed at a princess motorized four-wheeler toy and told Daddy, "Ride it!"  Daddy was not amused.
  • Daddy then took Mommy and I to Chick-fil-a.  I was so excited to get to run and climb and play after being stuck in the house for a while.  It was so much fun!  After eating, I got to see my friend Zandy but this time she was dressed like a princess... She was so beautiful!
  • Once back at home, Mommy and Daddy said it was time to carve the pumpkins.  I started yelling, "Pumpkin Patch!" and ran to carry the pumpkins from the foyer to the living room.  I dropped Daddy's pumpkin at the stem broke.  I think he was a little sad.  Daddy cut a hole in the top of his pumpkin then opened it up.  I had no idea all of that stuff was inside.  I watched Daddy get a few hands full of what Mommy called "pumpkin guts" then I thought about reaching in.  After some hesitation, I finally decided to do my part.  I wasn't sure about how yucky it felt, but it was kinda fun.  It was very stringy!  I did have to ask for a paper towel to clean my hands a couple of times when they got gross.  I helped Daddy carve the face in his pumpkin then watched as he lit the candle inside.  I told him, "Good job, Daddy!"  I had a stare-down with Daddy's jack-o-lantern and even tried picking his nose before Daddy put it on the porch for a little while.  I helped Mommy with her pumpkin too, but I think she forgot to take the guts out.  She just cut designs in her pumpkin.  When she was finished, I said, "Good job, Mommy."
  • We called to talk to Grandma and Grandpa who don't have power after the storm then it was time for bed.  While talking to them on the phone, Daddy got me some fruit loops to snack on.  He put them in a small bowl for me.  I was eating them with my hands then decided I would rather use a spoon, so I grabbed a spoon that was laying in the living room.  Mommy started laughing when she saw me using such a big spoon, especially since it was the same spoon Daddy had just used to scrape out the pumpkin guts just a few minutes before.
  • I hope I get to see Keegan, Payton, and Ms. Cheri tomorrow.  I have missed them!
